The price we have to pay for being inconsiderate and downright mean to those who love us, but get no love in return, is loneliness and friendless in the end. To be so selfish as to think they are superior in a love affair is a shame. Those who take pleasure in hurting others is a sub-human and not worthy of a second glance. The only thing is they hide that side of them until the hook have been swallowed before showing their true selves. Good poetry.

Everything is in harmony I think. A good friend of mine once said to me, "Fabian, the great tragedy of life is that there is no backgroud music." I replied, No, the great tragedy of life is that there IS background music and it seems like I'm the only one that can hear it. (laughing) EVERYTHING is a song to me...life, experiences...even poetry. I'm going to see Mr. Eric Clapton in Raleigh this Wednesday night. He just celebrated his 68th birthday March 30th. I might be silly for being excited about going to see a 68 year old guitar player but...he is also the ONLY three time inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Back to your poem; (forgive my rambling)...I don't know that reality is all it's cracked up to be or if reality is even real. Reality is more of a perspective on perception than any absolute truth. Example: I'm sitting "still"...NO. I'm hurdling a quarter of a million miles per hour through the universe. Example: Down is down and up is up. NO. Down is beneath my feet but since the earth rotates...and there is no "up" at all...but only OUT...away from the earth. Example: Everything is right side up. NO. Everything is upside down and our eyesight inverts it for us to have it make sense. So...truth and "reality" have VERY little in common. (smile) But we are always being told to "get real". But as Jack Nicholson said in one of his famous movie roles, "You can't handle the truth." And none of us can...it would drive our tiny limited psyches right off the edge. Time and space may be illusion as well...but everyone chooses the truth that seems the least crazy or most conveinent to them.

I'm amazed he can still play so well and sings even better...the gravel of age just gives his voice character. I can't believe I paid 35$ for a tee shirt...ahhh what the heck it was CLAPTON! (smile)
this is very cool...reminds me of the Moody blues "a question of balance"
and the last song on the album.."just open your eyes and realize the way it's always been/ just open your heart and it's a start"

and this writing of yours..made me feel some harmony.
many times in my life have i thought about the harmony of the universe , and pondered the relationship between that universal truth and those truths we create for ourselves. to find harmony with others is to embrace that universal harmony, however, we sometimes lose our way along that path and need to hear the melody once more so that we may join in again...otherwise there are no songs left to sing. beautiful write, Neva!
