A Tear I'll Never Weep

A Tear I'll Never Weep

A Poem by Neva Flores Smith - Changefulstorm
"

Faded hours fall from my childhood scars like solemn words set fire in streams to all I speak.

"

When the last memory says

I have to remember

all the layers that whisper in these rooms.

My fingers become blind

to the passing warmth of years

my lips have forgotten

way too soon.

I always knew

the rambling name

of the nights when I smiled

at the voices of the stars.

This is when I felt the air lingering

inside of a time

when I knew I could stand

where you are.

Faded hours fall

from my childhood scars

like solemn words set fire in streams

to all I speak.

Still, I accept your arms

and give you all my love,

knowing.......

no breath of mine will sleep.

A knowing is left

like a sound subdued in my ear,

and I savor the notion

that your words lie underneath.

I read each line

one more time....until,

the end of us

is a tear

I'll never weep.

Deep and painful/ I know these pieces are not your favorite to write but you are good at them Neva. It does a man, or woman, no good to hide from the pain, the weight of it will crush you no matter your physical strength. Your mental stability will only hold so long before the cracks under the surface begin to show through again and bury you under the rubble...! Awesome, deep, painful write meant to elicit an emotional response. In me, it has...!

You're welcome (:
Was this an epiphany?

I always knew
the rambling name
of the nights when I smiled
at the voices of the stars.

The stars knew not the pain that beauty hides. Smiles adorn the face of the broken hearted....your dreams....they are left uncharted.

We got to let our feeling out when we face heartache or it will build up a wall that we can never tear down. Another excellent poem young lady.

My pleasure.
This is has a relaxed solemn pace. Each line adds strength to the one before it. It reminds me of someone who is in morning for someone. Standing in the persons favorite spot and rereading letters they have written. This is sad and delicate.

Thank you Poetic :)
Somehow i saw a Mother at the end of her days being cared for by a family member: a daughter given the sensitivity of the prose.
Melancholy yet not despondent; for me melancholy isone of the most difficult ambiences/atmospheres for a poet to produce. Well done.
