Tears Cry Tears of Their Own

Suddenly my thoughts run deeper

and become folded

inside the scent of the air

until they pull on my heart-strings

and watch

my tears cry tears of their own.

And I laugh and smile,

pretend to be happy

as if I don't remember

you're gone.

However, sorrow brings truth

as it closes in

to unravel the seconds

of each sleepless night

I have held for years unknown.

And I realize,

it's time to move forward,

stop letting my tears

cry tears

of their own.

Sometimes we have to let go of hurt in order to move on. It doesn't mean that the love wasn't strong, it simply means life have to continue to move forward and not remain in the past. the emotions in this poem are so strong. You can feel the longing and the pain but the strength as well. The need to move in a new direction with a head held high and shoulder back.

Deep write here for we sometimes like to show our harder side on the outer shell hiding the painful sorrows in our inner soul maybe scared to show weakness if seen with teary eyes, but behind closed doors the gates sometimes overflow. In time for some of us after grieving pain we find our strength to move forward no more tears crying tears and as always keep writing fellow writer again nice read.
