Unravel the Night

Unravel the night as it nods off

to become a wall of darkness

until the sun looks into your eyes

once again

and you feel the pain of truth.

Then tell me what is real

among the promises we have made

and why the blood running through our veins

speaks of us,

as our hearts are seduced.

How can we continue to live on the edge

where each breath we take

challenges our bodies to become

victoriously in control?

When our hearts' wish to speak

of the need to see each other's face

and how love's flame burns

within our eyes then moves

inward to the depth

of our souls.

I love the progression that you've captured in this piece- you start with a cute, children's bedtime type of feeling with innocent nighttime words like "nods." Then you grow up. You start playing with words like "seduced." I like it! It shows the agelessness of love. Thank you for sharing!

hi Neva trying out a new software this Dragon dictation. It allows me to speak and then it copies my voice down so much simpler than me using a keyboard. I like this poem. The thoughts are always deep sometimes dark painful actually. I hope you're well. I think we both know what it means to grow a little older but I wouldn't trade youth for wisdom. I would give up all the wisdom to live in youth again.

thank you Tate. I have a funny story about that software. My dad bought it, trained it to his voice and began dictating an email to his sister my aunt shirley. It types out Dear Surely.......he says oh crap and starts over by saying Dear Sis it types out Dear Cyst......he said holy cow and gave up. lol

I found this burning with passion, almost as if a forbidden love has occurred and one desires so much to see it to fruition, to run it's course if for no other reason than to get it out of the blood and where it can be dealt with realistically as it has risen to fever pitch. wonderful :)
