Memoir of the free

A friend asked me to write a poem slash song for him.. it was a challenge but here goes. Definetly not finished, still needs lots of work. Let me knowcwhat you think please!

Memoir of the free

You found love where it wasn't supposed to be, right inside of me.

The best way to say "I love you" is to let her heart be free.

And baby, now tell me why do you run away like you don't deserve love?

Why do you walk around like you don't even need it?

Was it because it gave you one little sip,  and now you're trying to save your heart another bad trip?

She strolled slowly through my volts and removed the broken files one by one 

then rushed out, replacing none 

and that's the thing about a free heart , I don't think it can be won.

I guess you found poison where it wasn't supposed to be, right inside of me

I like the use of the language. You did create song.
"The best way to say "I love you" is to let her heart be free."
The above lines was my favorite and the ending left the reader with wanting to know more. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
