Smiling Back at Love

Smiling Back at Love

A Poem by CHANDNI SETHI

With a heart half torn & a love long lost,
Walking across the room with a smile on her face.
A smile bright enough to blind you of all sense.
A smile as heartfelt as love on a cold day.
But her eyes had a different story to share.
So much to learn from her old mistakes.
Deafening screams & immense pain surrounded her thoughts.
Nostalgia crept in every time he came around.
He smiled at her like they'd never met before,
& she smiled right back, there was nothing she could say.
But her teary eyes burned every moment she thought of him,
So she promised to never look back again.

Sometime a look, can break our heart.
"He smiled at her like they'd never met before,
& she smiled right back, there was nothing she could say. "
I liked and understand the above lines. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
