The Unseen LettersA Poem by CHANDNI SETHI
She wrote a letter to her mother.
Some thoughts lacked. Perhaps the bond was weak. Perhaps the trust was cracked. She wrote a letter to her father. Some harsh words left unused. Perhaps this was just her courtesy When her plea for love was refused. A wealth of family photographs to admire, Not one happy memory to look back upon. "Will I ever see them together again?" She thought to herself one sleepless dawn. Maybe the wall of trust that cracked, & maybe the lack of love she had Had reasons deeper than her knowledge. But she gave the brightest smile she could, & told everyone, "It is alright, We all have some baggage." © 2016 CHANDNI SETHI |
