Shadow and Smoke

Shadow and Smoke

A Poem by Chandler Person
"

this is kinda about homicide :-)

"
With each smoky thought
comes an equal reaction.
Images of butterflies float in your mine,
equaled with a smile.
Thoughts of murder are equaled
with shaking fists and loaded guns.
Everyday the push gets stronger
and thoughts get louder.
Days and nights pass slowly.
Unable to sleep,
you plan
or shiver due to your thoughts.
Each day your fear grows stronger
as your mind slowly chooses.
With a gun dead in your pocket,
your head spins
while the drugs take place in your mind.
Ghostly motions trace your actions,
like a lucid dream.
But as the screams echo through the halls
with gunshots following,
your brain wakes to the truth of your shadowed silhouette.
You turn your gun away from the many dead
and the cowardly living,
to yourself.
With the heater to your temple,
a presence within you pulls the trigger,
giving the halls a new design of tragedy.
