Tomorrow Never Happened

Tomorrow Never Happened

A Poem by Ugochukwu Charles

Funny how we woke up in the morning
and pretended that tomorrow never happened"
strutted naked in mirrors celebrating our youth,
laughing, knowing suns and moons couldn’t do the same.

We borrowed our arms from the fridge
and peddled bicycles with bad breath"
trading war stories ‘cause we knew
if we came back alive
life would still be the death of us.

love this one as well, especially the message of death in life, and our inability to change in the the closing lines. again great imagery used and supreme manipulation of the english language once again.

Beautifully written, especially the last few lines. It was short, but vicious.

Wow. There's not even anything I can say because it's perfect in every way (except I'm not sure about the random quote marks after the second line in each stanza).

But yeah. That was absolutely amazing.
