The Wise Dove

The Wise Dove

A Poem by Chained_Voice
"

Written for a contest.

"

She sits in the darkness,

waiting on her meal.

She sits in the darkness,

waiting to feel.

She hates the light,

yet she wants to love.

She hates the light,

but is a white dove.

People come to her,

looking for hope.

People come to her,

trying to cope.

But she turns them away,

not wishing to be seen.

But she turns them away,

keeping there eyesight keen.

She sits in the darkness,

waiting on her meal.

She sits in the darkness,

waiting to feel.

Beautifully evocative poem. I have walked many roads and have felt like this in my life. I am touched by the honesty presented here and the fact that it awakens certain truths within my soul. Thank you for sharing this exceptional piece as it is something to be honoured for its cathartic and authentic reflections.
