He looked at the clock and let out a hushed sigh. It was two in the morning, and she wasn't home yet. The smell of cigarette smoke was strong in the air and he light one more. He heard the key turn in the lock and slipped his lighter back into the pocket of his Levi blue jeans. A blonde haired women slowly opened the door and slipped inside. Then she gasped, bringing her hand to her chest, as she turned around. “Jason, you can't scare me like that." Jason blew a puff of smoke into the air and sigh softly. "Sorry Ash, I didn't mean to scare you." He put the cig out in the ash tray and walked over to her.
With a careful hand he brushed a strained of blonde hair out of her face and whispered "Where have you been?" She blinked, looking up at him, worrying that he might know. Ashley was no where near being short, she was almost six feet tall. But Jason was six feet and a half and stood taller then just about everyone she knew. "I w... was out with the girls and w... we lost track of time." She mumbled, stumbling over her words, she never was a good liar. "Alright, Baby." He then kissed her forehead and walked in to the kitchen.
As he walked around to the fridge he heard her say "It's really cold in here. Would you please light the fire place?" "As you wish." He called back, turning around. He was planning on getting a beer, but she always came first. So he walked across his six-tenth story suite, towards the fire place and took out a box of matches. "God.... I always loved the view from up here." She smiled, her hand pressed against the window's glass. With a small smirk he struck a match and tossed it onto the wood.
She shivered and rubbed her bare arms, turning around and walking over to him. "I ran into Mark at the club." She smiled as he wrapped his arm around her small shoulders. "O, really? It's been years since I heard from him." He kissed then top of her head, hiding the jealousy he felt. "Ya, he is a doctor now." As she spook she had no idea of the thoughts going though his head. Or that he knew of her affairs and she thought she would be safe with him as long as he did not know. "I kind of saw him going down that road."
Ashley yawned and he kissed her cheek. "Maybe you should head to bed." She nodded obediently and slipped out of his arms. "Don't stay up to late." She called over her shoulder as she walked to the bed room. "Ya, like it's not late enough as it is." He mumbled under his breath. Then he grabbed a kitchen knife and walked in the wall just outside the door. her watched her take of her shoes and her jewelry then turn of the lamp and climb into bed. Then he stood in the doorway, listening to her breath until she was sound asleep. "I'm sorry that I have to do this my love." He whispered as he walked over to the bed, clenching the knife in his fist.
