Dear Happiness

Dear Happiness

A Poem by Chained Potential

Dear Happiness,

I wish I had never met you. You floated into my life with your ephemeral beauty, leaving me breathless, senseless at the very concept that I could possibly feel this way. In my determination, my desperation, to continue to feel… something… good… I latch on to your incorporeal form with all that I am my heart and soul screaming, then pleading, for you to stay. But you never do. You saunter away leaving me empty and cold, and the agony of your absence steals away my breath like bitter winter wind, leaving me longing for the warmth of your embrace.

Dear Happiness

I wish I had never met you

You floated into my life

An ephemeral beauty

Leaving me breathless

Senseless at the thought

I could feel this way

In my determination

My desperation

To continue to feel

Something

Good

I latch on to

Your incorporeal form

With all that I am

Heart

And soul

Screaming

Pleading

For you to stay

You never do

You saunter away

Leaving me empty

Cold

The agony of your absence

Steals away my breath

A bitter winter wind

Leaving me longing

For the warmth

Of your embrace

This is really good, I personally prefer the second one as it made every word seem perfectly positioned which allowed me to feel the raw pain and need that I think you were trying to show! Well done.
