A Title that Captures What this Poem is AboutA Poem by BlackbirdSquawkI’ve been letting myself go hungry lately. I’ve been acing the questionnaires the doctor’s been giving me. I’ve known what I could be since I was young. I am not ignorant or incompetent and I know when to hold my tongue. I can feel how you’ll grow tired of my company. I hear your disdain for the personalities I have but others show. I hope you'll never know. We give slack to the innocence of children for they know not of what they do. We don't blame red for not being blue. So when my closet empties, You might reconsider what you do to your worst enemies. © 2023 Blackbird |
