We Honor Our Fallen

We Honor Our Fallen

A Poem by Chad Hollingsworth
"

Tomorrow I join my fire department to lay to rest one of our brothers. He was tragically killed in an accident on Friday. I wrote this in his memory.

"

With one purpose we gather,

To honor this one,
Who's tones have last sounded,
His final shift's done.

His life was spent serving,
The needs of another,
With no difference between,
Family, stranger or brother.

He gave his life's all,
To answer need's call,
Though difficult, he'd arise,
With life's love in his eyes.

His children and wife,
He honored most in this life,
Giving love so deserving,
With passion unswerving.

He responded with yes,
When put to life's test,
Pressing in when most run,
This good thing he's done.

Listen close and we'll hear,
An encouraging cheer,
And so we'll continue,
His strength in our sinew.

His voice be now heard,
It says from above,
"Compassionately serve,
all others with love."

So with love for this calling,
We honor our fallen,
And deliver this one,
To Father, Spirit and Son.

Oh Wow! I am so sorry!
This is such a heartfekt tribute to him
Sorry about this happening.
Least he served us. By that he's a good guy.
He gave his all.
