Protect Them Lord

My salute to those that serve their country for the cause of freedom.

Fight the good fight! 

Ye warriors of light,

By grace keep them safe

Through day and through night.

 

May they walk in Your strength,

And trust in what’s right,

These our brave few

Which are out of our sight.

 

We might never know

Good  deeds gone unsung,

So, please help us shout

With ev’ry breath in our lungs.

 

Appreciation and thanks,

For freedom’s great fight,

And these our brave few,

Which are out of our sight.

 

For these our brave few,

Who fight when most run,

They are fathers and mothers,

Our daughters and sons.

 

Maybe sisters or brothers,

Or perhaps they are friends,

These that fight for us now,

Keep ‘em safe ‘til the end.

 

And as they come home,

Let us remember the cost,

Lives forever changed,

And innocence lost.

 

And if they pass on,

Embraced by Your light,

May we honor these most,

That fought the good fight.

I Love Reading Poems about war&Military. The dedication that ment put into going through the process of fighting for their country. This poem flowed well together, and then the last stanza... it enformed how much those that fight for their pride and for their family and pride of their country. Tht though they were at lost, they fought a good fight. They are those that as you had portrayed the ones in which we must honor most.
