As I Watch You Sleeping

As I Watch You Sleeping

A Poem by Chad Hollingsworth
"

A Poem I wrote some 20 years ago. I still love the pictures in this. The image used is from a painting entitled Woman Sleeping from Dot Gould. You can find more of Dot's work @ http://www.dotgouldpainting.co.uk/index.html. Thanks for reading!

"

As I watch you sleeping,

I thought I saw you smile.

With pleasant dreams upon you,

I love you all the while.

As I touch your gentle curves,

I now can feel your heart,

With my hands upon you,

I know we’ll never part.

As I kiss your cheek so soft,

I connect with your soul,

With my lips upon you,

I feel all that’s whole.

As I place my arms around you,

I know this is meant to be.

With my eyes upon you,

I see as love does see.

Love is more than a feeling,

Yet still I feel so much,

Love is more than longing,

Yet still I long to touch.

Nothing left to do…but surrender.

*Sigh*
What a wonderful treat for me to stumble upon this evening. The key word in this poem that jumped out at me is "soul". That is the truest love and the most enduring. This has a beautiful flow.. I simply love this.
