For Christi

For Christi

A Poem by Chad Hollingsworth
"

A Poem for my wife, Christi, my love.

"

My lady, my love

Like the stars from above

You brought beauty and light

When you invaded my night.

What I thought was a dance,

Left so much to chance,

A new world was in sight,

And pure love I did fight.

Receiving love from you seemed,

To be more like a dream,

And afraid of nightmares,

I ran, shaken and scared.

But you did not run,

Instead, like the Sun,

You held steady and true,

I could not shake you.

And after much wrong,

I gained my heart’s song,

To your love I said yes,

And you accepted my mess.

In your eyes, I see me,

And to Three I will plea,

To be gracefully loved,

By my gift from above.

Our love has not faltered,

These years since the altar,

And despite many trials,

I remain lost in your smile.

For our love above all

Like the Sun shall not fall.

Knowing true love in my life,

Is embracing you as my wife.
