Broken Sky

Broken Sky

A Poem by Charlotte Wensleydale
"

A poem written in the darkness to remember that the light will come. The title is taken from the title of a poem by Carl Sandburg, which in part inspired this poem.

"

Broken Sky

A break will

Come within the

Long expanse of

Grey that looms

Above the forest.

The sun still

Shines somewhere

Beyond the gloom

That seems to cover

Everything on Earth.

Behind the grey

Still sits that

Brilliant blue, and

Still it waits for

The sky to break.

I like it Charlotte - a great metaphor for life. Life often seems like that, grey and dismal but there is always some hope on the horizon. Or perhaps I am reading too much into your poem? The nice thing about poetry is that when we share it we renounce possession of it.
All the best,
Alan
