Day and Night

Day and Night

A Poem by ChIs

As I lay awake at night,
I think about the stars.
Burning balls of matter...
Like the fire within my heart.

For months now I'm restless,
Unable to comprehend,
Why lies are spreading like wildfire...
It seems the madness never ends.

The flames of truth have been put out,
By springs and streams of lies.
In reality this water is murky
But this truth deceives the one's eyes.

It must be easier to believe those
Who are the sought after paradise.
Destroying the passion and the light,
You gladly move towards the dark of night.

The embers of a broken love
Will always glisten for the 'sun.'
Desire and hope that was once ignited
Will always remain lighted.

Burdened with a heavy heart
The soul will hide the passion
From these ashes shall the Phoenix rise...
The promise of better days will suffice.

One day the 'sun' shall know who was right.
It will be clear,
Distinct...
As day and night.
