Take a Look Around You.

Take a second, 

Look around,

Do you see the frowns I've come upon?

There's a man, 

who seems as happy as can be.

Except its all an act,

so other people can see.

His work consumed his life,

for everything is gone.

He still has though shiny new cars,

but nobody to come with.

He's tired,

everything is all a struggle,

it's even worse, 

when there's no one to lean on.

There's a mother of three.

She's single as can be.

Waiting for the bus,

with her worries all about.

Shes hoping for that job,

to come around. 

There's a girl,

around age twelve.

Her face full of makeup,

she only looks down.

Her clothes all tight, 

she thinks she out of sight.

But her insecurities,

are eating her alive. 

There's a boy,

around age 7.

His mind somewhere else.

He's thinking of the concept of heaven.

For he had a great lost,

to him the world had disappeared,

as he thinks about the concept of heaven. 

Are they safe? Are they near? 

Will I ever see them again?

Are the questions he all endeared.

There's a dog,

all haggard about.

He hasn't had a bath, in god knows what.

He longs for a family,

not for the streets.

Now, look around you.

Do they all seem to be happy to you?

Of course not, everybody has their issues.

Some more severe more than others,

but be considerate.

You may never know what a person is going through.

Don't judge a book by its cover.
