Chapter 62: The Flames Explode

Chapter 62: The Flames Explode

A Chapter by Ceuthonymus

The three gods rush onwards,
Ares summoning forth war horses
That were grazing nearby
And Artemis summoning her own
From out of the nearby forest.
The road fast and quick
When the two men clashed
In the streets of the city
Sending forth a blinding flash
Of magnificient light
And a rush of wind forth
As it rushed past the three,
The horses whinning slightly
At this desturbance within the atmosphere.
They didn't change direction
They didn't retreat.
They forged ahead
Onwards to the city to see
The destruction that would be left
But as they arrived,
They found very little was left
At least, of the altercation
As it didn't seem to be any bodies
Nor where there any wreckage left.
All that remained were the few
Scattered sparks of flames
That smouldered away on the stone
And of the scorchmarks left on the
Streets of the city.
"So where are they?"
Is all Ares could ask,
As the city sat quietly,
Empty and void of all life
For it seemed after the fight.
Artemis bent down to examine the street
Looking at the little flame
That was fighting on the cobblestone
Before she snuffed it out and added
"Indeed, Ares, where did they go?"
