Chapter 43: The Flames Burn Bright

Chapter 43: The Flames Burn Bright

A Chapter by Ceuthonymus

Once again

We begin with flames

Leaping forth without warning

Only filled with harmful intent

As they acted like whips

Coils and strands of flames

Erupting and snapping in midair

At the goddess and the boy

Who couldn’t move from all the

Physical strain that he had endured

But struggle did he

For he wouldn’t fall to this man

Without a fight

For he understood who had

Just arrived to the scene

Since this was the man

Who had helped end his fathers life.

Artemis however took to action

For she was strong

For she needed to protect herself

And the child

For the child was innocent

Just a victim of circumstance

At least that is how she

Preceived this to be

And so it was

As it was thought of.

Artemis however

Wasn’t to have any more of this

This had to end now

For it had angered her so

That another puny god

At least when compared to her might

Would dare to challenge her

In her arena

In her ways

In her everything

And so it was a challenge

That she couldn’t overlook

And one that she had

To accept and to conquer.

She rushed out of the house

Were Asbetos raged

Like that of a fire gone wild

The people having lost control

As it burned so brightly

And so brilliantly too.

Yet, to Artemis

It wasn’t anything special

In fact, it was weak compared

To what she had witnessed

In her lifetime

As she competed ‘gainst

The sun god himself

As they would have sibling contests

To see who was truly better.

“Well look who joined

All the fun at last!

Thought the boy would protect

Your arse the entire time

And that we wouldn’t be able

To have any play-time

With each other.”

Asbetos exclaimed in pure joy

Which seemed to horrific to me

Or anyone else who

Might be against the thought of

A man tearing apart another being.

“Well, now we wouldn’t

Want to miss all this fun

That you keep going on about,

Now would we?

Let me show you why you don’t want this

Why you should have stayed at home

And had never challenged me

To a battle

In the very heart of my home.”

With this said

Artemis began to charge forthwith

Right into the burning inferno

That was created by the insane god,

Hell bent on destruction

And nothing more.
