On the Open Road

On the Open Road

A Chapter by Ceuthonymus

The sun rises high
The blood filling it
Like the chalice of life
Is filled with its victims souls.

I rise from the ashes
Of my very sins
To stand in the wake
Of that dreaded battlefield.

War waged by brother
And by sister
The backstabbing and hatred
Ever so fresh to the bitter mind.

For what wasn't right
For what wasn't good
For what wasn't what
They stood for.

The winter leaving
The coldness drifting ever
Further away does it seem
As I depart from their corpses.

The ravens fly down
As they attack their sins
Tearing the carcass
In order to feed on the

Guilty soul within.

The war was waged
Funily enough
By angels and demons
The popular and the rejects

But who won
At the end of the day?
We only have the future to tell us
So see me tomorrow

I will show the world
You can drag me down
You can haze me all you like
I'm the f*****g dog that gets up

After every punch
After every fight
I come back
To show you up

And shine in the
Shed blood o' mine
I will continue to walk
All over you

The guilty shall not win,
not today
not ever
I promise

Upon my dead body.
