Chapter 16: Return to the Inner Walls of Olympus

Chapter 16: Return to the Inner Walls of Olympus

A Chapter by Ceuthonymus

High above all other things

Lay the palace of the gods

Where they sat in wait

As to what was to come

From these events.

They wanted to see the child in action

As they had watched him journey

Into hell and how he

Spoke with his traitorous father.

They wondered what message

Lay beneath the ghost’s voice

At to what exactly he was hinting at.

They were all mystified as

We all are,

I am sure of that.

There they sat,

When without warning came

Mighty Poseidon, king of the boundless sea.

"When may I begin to work, dear brother Zeus?

For my men have been waiting for a command,

But indeed no command does come

Only silence and a cold shoulder

From the very man that we only serve

To please.

Just allow us to help you in this for

Our father is a tricky one,

As you may well know."

"Ah brother,"

Spoke thunderous Zeus

"Why I have been merely patient

For father has time on his side,

So we must play along with his game

In order to have him come to us

Begging for forgiveness

Like the dog he truly is.

Then, and only then

Do we send him back down to Tartarus

From whence he came.

Just be at ease for now."

"But I do not trust this man to

Continue to walk free in my waters

No longer.

He is putrid and horrid,

He is truly rotten to the core

And needs to be finished

Once and for all.

So I beg of you,

Nay,

I implore you,

Please send me and my men to

The witches’ island to take care

Of this abomination."

"Fine brother,

If you are so eager to wage war

On this man then go,

Take it to him

For he is still technically in your territory

Of the sea.

But be warned,

He may try anything

For he has become desperate.

Do not fall for anything,

And most importantly of all,

Kill him not.

We need to bring him here

Only to send him back down to Tartarus.

Am I understood?"

With a nod of his head

Furious Poseidon the water bender

Took off to his soldiers of the sea

In preparation of war.
