Chapter 4: The Decision for now...

A Chapter by Ceuthonymus

The gods were all stunned

Stuck sitting there in their circle

One got up,

"I shall claim him." She claimed.

"I and my huntresses can easily

Defeat such a weakling as he.

We can have him here within hours’ time

Without much issue or delay."

"Now halt, o' goddess of the moon!

We know how you treat men,

And of that poor soul you loved

So many years ago.

You must stay here, for now."

Claimed wise Zeus.

"I shall instead have Poseidon take care

Of this brat, for he has nowhere else to go.

He will be ours soon enough and shall not escape

Our grasps so easily this time, dear daughter o' mine.

But if he doth, you may go after him.

But i will send Athena with you,

So as to ensure the safety of this package

I will entrust you with."

With that, Zeus got up and left,

The other gods staring at each other

Many did not like this,

Bringing the very much hated man into their home

As a guest!

How revolted they felt,

But they knew better then to go against the thunderous Zeus.

And Athena, wisest of all immortals,

Stood before them with pose to say

"Now hold, gods and goddesses,

We must hold faith in our lord,

He was the one we chose to lead us,

Now we must hold out and wait.

Has he failed us before today?

Nay,

So do not act rash

For he has reason

To allow such a hated man live on.

Let us keep the peace and calm amongst ourselves thou,

And watch this child

For he is supposed to be such a hero,

Let him prove it to us

As he will be tested in these waters

Like no other before him.

So look on upon this young soul

And let us enjoy the show!"

With this said, each god and goddesses look at each other

The calm, like that of a peaceful wave being carried

Away by the sea breeze of old Poseidon, sea charmer.

They all reclaim their seats, looking through a seer cloud

Showing the boy as he continues he mad dash out of the city state.

I like how you put conflict between the gods and goddesses:) One thing though, you aren't describing any of them. Someone who knows nothing about them wouldn't really understand the story.
