Waters of Sin

Waters of Sin

A Poem by V.I.C.

Waters of Sin

Oh, Lord. My sins is like an angry roaring ocean. Its waves violently throw me in different directions. I try to fight against it, but the struggle is too hard.

As I carelessly swim against the tide, its waters suck me in. Without care or consideration I loose sense of direction under the waters of my sin. Once I’m caught underwater I don’t know which way is up or down, I seek my reasons but I cannot reach them, for they go far from me as east to west.

For I finally stopped swimming against the waves, I floated with no strength; I had no courage to look for it. My God how I pray while in this ocean you show up, and reunite me with my reason so there won’t be such distance anymore. So that it would be close like you and my heart, close; so close that it won’t matter what tides or storm comes my ways.

Oh! How merciful you are Lord.
