Our RealityA Poem by CessyJust a poem I wrote earlier on this year, it was set before a bad breakup of mine....
Waiting
Unsaid words linger in the air Clinging to the unknown, Grasping for release Envy I long to be the darkness I long to resemble the invisible to be the outsider- To hear you speak the words we’ve both been waiting you speak aloud the words assumed Cutting through the night wounding my heart yet I know you’re in the right our problems have heightened high beyond reach Still I can’t seem to let go something keeps me connected can’t get free Convinced we’re living art displayed for all Our love was a delusion A simple fantasy A love story left untold but only we understand the real meaning Now I wait in the silence again While the shadows envelope me In their cold embrace, Pretending to be okay You know better Please Say everything will be just fine “You’ll always be mine” Stuck in my head Remember We were lost in the illusions I’m drowning in our short story The words “I’ll always be yours” Repeating in my head Like A broken tape recorder You’ve left me in the dark To fend for myself We used to be so happy Delusions be damned We held each other In the others arm that nothing else mattered To us But then Reality took over Life Flooded our dreams Drowned our love stole every ounce of what we had now all that’s left, All that we have to call ours, is lost in the cold silence © 2013 CessyAuthor's Note
