Big Brother

Big Brother

A Poem by James Reyes
"

A family broken...

"
Momma asked me what I gave God today.
Papa said nothing, cause he went away.
Sister picked a fight but I just said no.
Brother asked me where did daddy go.
All these answers I have to give.
Are every single reason I have to live.
Little hands reaching need something to grasp.
And mamma needs a strong arm to fight off a man.
Being what you are and being what you aint,
Aint easy to be, but easy I aint.
Big brother I've been,
Since the day sis was born.
Since bug called me bubs,
Since momma was torn.
And though I must go,
Though sometimes I'm away.
My answer will always,
Be of course I can stay.
