Her and Tequila

Her and Tequila

A Poem by James Reyes
"

A memory of a night too reoccurring not to ponder.

"
Spiced breath on my cheek and you whisper confession,
Words full of irony that convey your attentions.
Rolling my eyes under half hooded lids,
Conveys my reflection of where we have been.
My answer brings on a blush in your lips,
A pout meaning everything tugs at your skin.
Hands press neatly at the flat of my chest,
Smoothing out imperfections as your vision fades in.
My playful refusal brings on sober thought.
You smile for nothing,
I know I am lost.
Last vision in memory is your hand taking mine.
One more drunken Night.
One more drunken Night.

And Tequila makes her clothes fall off...A somber (not sober!) reflection of a tainted relationship. A good write.
