All I Remember

All I Remember

A Poem by James Reyes
"

It killed me to say goodbye. I knew we'd never have what we had that one day again. But none of that matters now. This memory still lingers. I doubt it will fade.

"
A cracked pepper kiss,
and the shake of your head.
Soft frame saturated in the cloak of my sweater.
Finger-digits thatched in mine like wicker basket clung close.
A rogue ray of sun...
And you smiled.
