A Poem by Centipedle

The world outside today was warm.
As I watched from my window on my comfy chair.
I could see the birds flying by,
Making my mouth water with desire.

I didn’t get to go outside often you see.
The master came home late most days,
Got upset when I wasn’t back soon.
But I loved him all the same.

Maybe not the way that buster would.
I clawed at my pole and sometimes,
The furniture.
Then got scolded by my master for it.

So on the days I could go out.
I stayed close to the backyard.
Got rid of the mice that threatened his crops.
Lay in the field in the sun.

But the best days I think,
Were the nights that my master went to bed.
I curled up right next to him.
Knowing that I’d be right there for him the next morning.

The best part of this is that you do not show the life of a cat with all the usual clichés. I like that you once again include the ups & downs of life, any life, all lives. I especially like that you are bluntly honest about the way we don't always treat our pets great, but in the end, they still cuddle up with us at night! *wink! wink!*

A amazing poem my friend. The life of a kind animal. To make the owner feel, they are not alone. I liked the flow of thoughts leading to proper and good ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Very interesting perspective. I think this will be the first time in a long time that I've read a story from the perspective of a cat.

Oh, I love this one! Although I think my cats would add how they like to run way to the lady in the trailer just so I'll come get them.

My sister next door has 10 cats. She is a spotless house keeper and feeds them chicken, and treats of all kinds. All are fixed, healthy, fat, and are her companions. She just gave up on men some time ago. So pets are her company. Valentine
