I thought "potato" instantly, only 2 lines in! But they do have imperfections, so maybe not! Definitely best served with cheese and/or sour cream. What's missing must be protein!?!?! Fun riddle . . . just enuf hints, but still a little mysterious.

i am so bad at riddles and games of any kind .. when my youngest was almost 4 yrs old i was playing Mario Brothers with him ... he would bounce along for 10-20 minutes and get killed .. my turn .. five or six bounces (seconds) was about all i could muster .. after several rounds of this he paused the game...looked up at me..and said "Dad! I am so ashamed.... you died again." ..that was the end of my gaming career :)
