“So let me get this straight, you’re a freelancer peacekeeper who claims you can advise foreign leaders on issues within their own countries at a price?” I listened to the man talk as I stayed seated in his chair. I had tried to dress in my best clothes this time, I didn’t usually wear dress like things. My legs showing and with a pair of glasses on my face. My blue eyes centered on the president - they were usually easier to convince then kings and queens considering their pride at stake.

“You’ve got the basic of it, just trying to make use of my skills to put food on the table sir. I’ve got plenty of satisfied clients from other worlds.” I remained with my legs crossed, though for a moment I shook my short blonde hair to try and get it out of my face. The green eyed mad was giving me a rather harsh stare as he sighed and leaned back for a moment I simply smiled. He didn’t look very sold on my offer.

“Not only do you come to me with a ridiculous idea - but you tell me other dimensional leaders, kings, presidents whatever have actually agreed and paid you. “ he stretched out a hand and I nodded my head.

“At first a lot aren’t on board - but I can’t make a living doing anything else and it’s a job I enjoy. I’m good at politics but I’m too nervous to make a public appearance so some even take the credit for my idea’s. I’m an inventor, and really good at working with people of all species. Me myself am a shifter so I’m not really that strong. As such I can imagine you can appeal with this sir being human yourself. All countries I approach I try to have a basic understanding and respect for. Plus if you don’t accept - it’s fine I’ll just look for more work.” I shook my head as I explained to the president. This country here was run by a human currently, where they elected their president through campaigns and it was a surprise that he’d won this year. No doubt, President Hans had a reputation to uphold. There was no way I could beat anyone in a fight so I tried to use my smarts to my advantage.

“Maybe if I could get into contact with some of your references I’d be convinced. I’m still thinking you’re just a young woman trying to swindle me. Tell you this, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt if you get one on the phone to talk to me.” He tapped his finger against the table. As I smiled I nodded my head and quickly pulled out my phone.

“Are you familiar with Lyre Walker?” I asked as I started to go through my contacts. Wow, for someone who was so anti-social I sure had a lot of contacts. As soon as I said the name though he seemed interested.

“I… am aware of who he is yes.” President Hans folded his hands together. I pressed the call button and pushed it to Hans. The man picking it up as he seemed dumbfounded picking it up to place it to his ear. I waited as it seemed like Lyre had picked up.

I only watched the one sided conversation for some time. Lyre Walker was a infamous and famous king - once lost a kingdom to his own son. However the holy demon, a species soon to be renamed by scientists sake, had built a new kingdom recently. Majority of their population were the ever so dangerous Devils - those creatures didn’t even get along with themselves let alone others as many could imagine. Lyre Walker’s first wife was a devil and since then he had aspired to try and simplify and make the devil's way of life of a better quality. Lyre as a man of sheer power, had many wives and husbands even - as such the king who I had served a couple of months back was someone who I knew could convince President Hans that if he hired me I’d at least be of some use.

As soon as President Hans handed back my phone I watched with stares in my eyes. Hoping that the brown haired man would say something. I couldn’t read his face too much, I was good at that but if I was right it just meant he was still irritated as hell. I didn’t blame him, maybe this meeting was a big waste of his time.

“Okay.” I jumped up and slammed my hands against the table making him roll back a bit in his chair with raised hands.

“I’m only going to hire you for something simple though - get it known I don’t endorse countries seeking outside help from a simple shifter. You’ll be educating a class of military men and women on common foreign weapons. It would give us a head start should anything happen. I’m sure you can handle that right?” He grabbed a paper and scribbled some things on it. Handing it to me. It had the time of the class and the weapons he wanted covered, or at least the countries he’d like them to be from. My guess was enemy countries. There was also the price on it, it surprised me how much it was but I wasn’t going to argue.

“Right! Thank you, you won’t be disappointed Mr.President. I’ll be there on time.” I dipped my head before quickly moving out the door. Joy welling up inside of me. Though all the anxiety I felt, it meant another client. As soon as I was out of the building I used my hand and tore through the fabric of the world. Opening up a portal towards my house as I stepped through, I couldn’t wait to tell Pidge who I had nabbed as a client.

These worlds are nameless - and it isn't just one world it is many. Ever wondered where many of my one shots come from - well this is it. A new series to be released that you can read and maybe understand a little better ^^

Basically the universe is all connected - parralell worlds, other worlds anything you can imagine is real. You see that tv show you're watching, that could actually be real just out of reach. Each world and universe however has a set of rules within their own right. Where you could use magic in one others it might be more scarce or forbidden. As earth itself has long since been dead due to an event called "the collapse" Any and all species exist in these dimensional worlds. Vampires, werewolves, deities, celestial similar to godly beings. Nothing is abnormal and out of the limits, whatever you can imagine... it's out there somewhere.

The story is told in Kurt Slew's point of view. A 20 year old animal shifter who can shift into a tiger and an owl which is rare for her species. She lives in a community town with no government nestled near the mountains. Her job, she's a peacekeeper. Convincing other world leaders to hire her for anything they seek to fit her. Whether it be give speeches, teach to the young, or try to stop a war. Even babysitting.

So I hope you will all enjoy, and I'll post some information on the creatures and stuff as we go along in the authors notes ^^ If you have any questions please let me know an they shall be answered. (note this preview is unedited - if you want to correct it it's welcome)

Even tho your story appears to be imaginary, it follows a course that's parallel to what's going on in the world these days, so this makes it interesting & provocative, as it could also pertain to any number of current world situations as well. I'm usually not into fantasy stories, but yours are so real-to-life, it's thought-provoking.

The paragraph that starts with: "I only watched the one sided conversation for some time." is the only place in the story where I felt a little discombobulated, like the stuff revealed here isn't really contributing to the flow & meaning of the story. Some of Lyre Walker's background explained in this paragraph seemed to be outside the main message of your story -- nice to know, but not really relevant.

i like it! i also am not a reader of this kind of fantasy fiction but like barley girl, the current affairs America brought enough real to lend believably to the rest .. i think that is important .. as then i can relate to some of those creatures you have and will introduce .. i like it ..and will keep me eyeball peeled for future chapters! :)
