![]() Among a kingA Story by Centipedle![]() idk![]() Attentive he walked down the hall with the woman by his side. Of course his expression dull - empowered among the servants who scrambled in the hallway as they entered the main ballroom. Tables strewn across the floor among chairs for various guests. The tall man's green eyes would scan over the ballroom, then towards the woman. Her petite small frame looking much frail. "My lord." A servant called as the man snapped his head to eye the smaller male. The king was larger than most men, in fact a giant on most terms. The wolf beast as they called him, a shapeshifter in his own right. The demon had reigned for a few years now and no one knew still what went through his head. "Hans get this lady a meal, and clean robes." The king told him in a still voice. As the servant bowed he and two others started to lead the skiddish lady to one of the tables. A breath left the king's mouth, a hand settling on his side. Now that the girl was handled, his muscles had relaxed. After finding her out in the rain trying to dig through the trash, the lord had escorted her into the castle. Turning towards the hallway to the left, he was stopped by a young girl and boy. Running straight into the kings legs as they backed up blinking towards him. The brown haired man looked down on the two children, before a soft smile grew on his face. He crouched and ruffled both of their heads. Affection that he rarely showed, and was savored by the lucky few. "Be careful where you run kids - you never know who could be holding a knife." He told them as he let his hands rest on his knee's. The two green eyed children looked to each other than towards him. "Yes dad. We'll be more careful, but mom rarely lets us leave the play place!" The boy complained as the King stood up. "The two of you are among many children, protecting you all is important. You never know when the kingdom will need you. Plus, you are the youngest. Just try to concentrate on being kids." His head turned to a woman who approached from the right. She walked closer to him in white robes, her short brown hair looking much like that of a man. "Lyre, I'm restless." the woman said the king's name in affection as he grabbed her hand. "The castle feels still with the storm tonight." Lyre would shift slightly as he looked towards his children again. "The storm is unsettling, I just picked up a stray off the streets. We will just have to wait for morning to come." If it ever came.
