Forbidden love

2014 writing

There once was a kingdom
Ruled by a king
And this king was adored
Whatever he did

He was king
He was noble
And purebred
Even if he got angry, the townspeople said

But there was a man that this king loved
A man of no power
Of truth and pain
A man who was noble but to no reign

The king was convinced to make this man his
So he rode off in his horse
To return with a blessing
But once he received this blessing it was too late

When the king rode upon the kingdom
And entered so proud
What he found
Was there was no longer a man left to love

I'm gonna upload some old poems, some of them I really liked so I figured I would share them. This was written back in 2014 in January.

interesting read ...its very prose-like .. the splash of rhyme refreshes the read for me .. i am probably complicating things too much (i often do that;} ) but it seems you shoot for your purpose and wing it ... if you know what i mean .. small typo?! "So he rode off in his horse" :) i can definitely see a larger story in this .. the King searching for the love of a man and finding no one leaves me without resolution ..like a symphony that ends with dissonance .. very interesting read for me

That is the funniest typo I've seen.

You're right though XD A lot of my poetry is me winging it. Which is why many people tell me my poetry starts off perfect and then gets lost along the way.

I think it leaves a message and moves on like a story... Most of us find ourselves as the victims of forbidden love... But the time we realize it, the ones we love are already gone...
I think you have a superb way with words... This is very profound and we'll executed write... Very much enjoyable...

I really enjoyed this story! I feel love should never be forbidden...we should feel free to love whoever we want, even if they are the same gender. Sad to realize that often, we are too late to make our lovers ours, but that shouldn't make us give up on love altogether. Very powerful write & we should always learn to follow our hearts, our feelings for one another, despite what anyone else may say. Love is too strong of feeling, too big of a risk to just push aside just cause we can't have the ones we want.
