The Writer, The Pen, The Ink

The Writer, The Pen, The Ink

A Poem by Vittoria
"

A quick poem that was done on a bit of a whim.

"
A writer's heart,
The pen, the ink.
The stories start;
As thoughts do link.

A flash of thought,
Whispers of a dream.
The tale unfolds
As ideas gleam.

Characters dance
Across the page.
The scenery breaks
As words do age.

Time, time; it moves so fast.
Thoughts are not built to last.

The writer's heart;
The pen and ink.
The words depart
No more to think.

The words are there,
But left to be.
No more to fare
Less so to see.

Author's Note

Vittoria
This poem was written in about the space of an hour - the last two stanzas don't feel right to me, but nothing I wrote seemed to quite fit, though for some reason I didn't feel I could leave it at the two line'd stanza.... thoughts and comments, as always, are much appreciated.

The flow is good.. You kept me reading without hesitation.. First poem I've read so far and I like.

Fav lines: "Characters dance
Across the page.
The scenery breaks
As words do age."

I really like the images you conjured with that.

I'll think on this I feel the same way sometimes. Not exactly sure how to finish something you feel good about from the start. I thinks it's great, but I understand the feeling let me read it a couple times more and go from there. Thank you

I love the pacing and the imagery. "Characters dance across the page" is exactly how I would describe it.

How does it happen? That it jumps out of us! I like this topic very much.

Perhaps to write things down is a kind of processing, that helps us live.

I think it's wonderful the way it is. The last two stanzas bring a sensible oddity to it. I'd keep them.
The rhythm and abab rhyme pattern are a great fit into the piece. You did a good job writing it. :)
