The pen and the sword

The pen and the sword

A Poem by Celladora

I have no past, present or future

Still I can spin a tale

From Once Upon a Time

To the final good bye

Will you cut my story short?

 I am not beautiful

Nor am I graceful or charming

Yet I can paint a goddess with my words

Will you take away my brush?

Though I am weak and decrepit

I can slay dragons with my pen

And drown my enemies in flowering prose

Will you crush me under the weight of it all?

I am small and insignificant

But I can build an empire

In black and white

Will you conquer me with your might?

I am all alone in this great big world

I can never hold you in my arms

Will you take away my right

To tell you how I feel?

My voice in quiet and shaking

But with it I can command an army

And bring great men to their knees

Will you silence me once and for all?

I have not been blessed with riches

I have nothing but my voice

Will you strip me of my only asset?

Great poem. From now on, I'll consider a pen as a lethal weapon!
