A perfect blend of love and fun ended in the ocean of knowledge

A Story by Attendance and time

Are you enjoying the party mate?” Ian exclaimed with joy. I nodded at him and looked around, it was a beach party on a weekend night. I saw a beautiful blonde girl sitting little bit far from me, I remembered someone calling her Sally. I went there and introduce myself “Hello, I am Stephan. A high school student and I am here with my best friend Ian”. She smiled and shook my hand. That was all I ever needed, so I started a conversation with her. She was a cute and intelligent girl, I liked her. We spent the whole night talking to each other. I ignored the rest of my friends and just spent the whole night with her.

The next day I woke up early in the morning, got a shower, and went straight to the gym. I wanted to build some muscles around my thin body. I wanted to look handsome, so that she could compliment me. So, I spent my whole day doing exercise and shopping for some new ravishing clothes. The day was too hectic, I went to beach in the evening and I found her strolling alone. We talked and walked that evening too. Then it became a daily practice for a month. That month was the happiest time of my life. I went for dinner with her and to an amusement park.

A month later, after coming back from the gym, I went to beach but could not find her. She wasn’t there and I got frustrated. Then I went straight to my friend Ian and he told me the horrible news. Sally was a student of psychology, and she came here to complete an assignment of studying human behavior. For that she needed a person. So after all the good time we had, I was still just an assignment. A case study, a respondent in a research work. My heart broke into pieces as I thought I was in love with her. My love for the life and fun was all over, she was no more. So, I came back to my home with a broken heart. I never tried to contact her through phone, email or social media. I knew it would be useless. I wasn’t the same guy as I used to be. I seek solace through solitude. I crafted lame excuses just to be alone. I avoid my best friends too and it affected my studies too, I had pathetic scores in my tests.

My parents and teachers were worried about my strange behavior. They tried their best to help me, but I was buried deep in the past. At my 19th birthday, my parents gave me a smart phone. That was the turning point in my life. After getting an iPhone, I spent most of my time in downloading different apps like gaming, educational and social media apps. I got in touch with all my friends and teachers; they motivated me to back to normal life. Eventually I did come back, but this time a heap of knowledge about apps and smartphones. This time I became famous for all the knowledge and information. People called me “The Genius Stephen”. I manage my time by a time management app. I used its calendar to prioritize my tasks and got great scores on my tests. I want to thank my parents and those people who develop these   apps which  makes  my life pleasant.

...sounds to me like Sally was the guinea pig, not this supposed protagonist who is the antagonist in disguise as a "nice" guy. But there will always be some other party, some other man meant to be Sally's, who actually LOVES her. Also, maybe she wasn't at the beach because she had a blown head gasket and even if she rented a car, he wouldn't have been there anyway. I think what happened was Sally realizxed she was surrounded by bad people, so she split. And they didn't even notice, or care. They just went on with their apps.
