Running through the woods
And what do I see
Something perfect for my brethren to see.
She knelt beside the riverside
Neck at a gentle curve
And dipped her hand into the moonlit waters.
The perfect sacrifice with skin so pale
With hair shiny as nightingale wings and
Dark as the night with her eyes piercing
Through my damned soul.
"Take my hand and I shall make you whole."
She looked at me with her bright eyes.
And grasped my hand.
I walked he to the sacred ground
With my brethren standing around
My heart skipped a beat
As the altar grew nearer
I knew that the time grew closer.
That this woman was my only way out
I caressed her hair
Which was light as angel wings
She looked around, frightened.
As the lightning commanded our attention
One of my brethren handed me the knife
To kill the perfect sacrifice
The sacrifice that shall save me
The sacrifice that shall cure me
I grabbed the knife with metal gleaming
It screamed through the air
And parted the virgin's hair
Beneath the shoulder it caressed
Pierced the skin and down to the bone within
I saw the look of shock and horror
As the woman realized what was happening to her
I heard a horrified gasp escape from her lips
As I reached around and plunged the knife into her breast.
Knowing that she was being killed,
A tear rolled down her cheek.
Realizing that she will not live.
She fell limp after her last breath
Escaped from her pale lips.
I laid her down on the altar
Hoping deep within
That sacrificing her
Shall save me
From the demon within.
