At Sea

A shaft of light sweeps in

From a worn open door

Which leads to a distant land

The sky is dark

Color of blood

Stains the clouds

Pirates cry aloud

“A storms on it’s way!”

Cries of gulls

Flapping of sails

Smell of salt

Echoes of thunder beat

Waves crash at your feet

The door stays open

Letting you take it all in

“Come child, let your journey begin”

Your feet move

Going further into the waves

Oh child, you are so brave

Let your heart fly free

Among the pirates at sea
