You remember?

I wrote this poem after me and my bf decided to take a break.

You remember November’s chill?
The frosty autumn morning still.
The joyful children at their play,
And the day we met along the way.

You remember how it all seemed a joke?
Neither of us took it as serious, I spoke.
You remember what came to be?
Our first great love, our destiny.

You remember how deeply you cared?
You wouldn’t let me sleep, with love declared.
The next day’s school, it mattered not,
Oh, how I wish I could return to that spot.

You remember when I first saw you?
I jumped into your hands, kissed you too.
But you’re no longer here by my side,
The meaning of happiness, I’ve set aside.

You remember that warm July?
A soft summer afternoon under the sky.
Since then, I often speak your name,
From my heart, I’ll never let you fade.

I’ve moved on, I won’t deny,
Why did I? Now I wonder why.
They call me foolish, but I know it’s true,
Without you, my dead soul can’t be through.
