BetrayedA Poem by CeceliaConfronting MortalityBetrayed...Have you? Have you betrayed me again? We are one, have always been Always will be to the end.
We share mind and body. We share life and When death comes We will share that too!
Now it appears you have decided To go on your own once more. Dividing over and over into an ugly mess. Don't you know it can kill us both?
I feel lost and abandoned... By you, my own body. I am hurt and angry, Desolate in my aloneness.
Unable to share feelings so raw Anyone would turn away, unable to cope With the darkness of a moonless night. Smile on the face pretends...
while..
Waiting for the results brings it all back. Thought I was way past the fear Only to find it tucked away, not conquered Just hidden in the darkness of a frightened mind.
Praying for benign... Preparing for malignant....
Now we will wait together.
