you again

you again

A Poem by Cayley

I can recall a time looking at you
during a hollow conversation.
your eyes reflected the moonlight
and starts shone between your teeth
At the time I didn't realize all that moonlight was a false reflection
and each start shone bright by the lies you told.
Now I look in the mirror
and see straight through myself
chocking on the beautiful poems stuck in my throat that play on repeat
I once had written for you
