A Poem by Cayley

I remember that it hurt,
Looking at him hurt.

I laid there with vultures picking through my thoughts
and watched them fight over the memory of you.

Insomnia screamed your name on repeat
forcing me to watch you
bounce between the bars of my cage
and echo a bitter sweet melody.
I see you shine your teeth at me again.

I’d beg you to let me free
but you'd ask to keep the key
so one day you could return
and still have access to me.

Some people like control over others.. It gives them a sense of power to have that hold onto someone.. You express that emotion very well. I liked the flow here..

As soon as I finish reviewing one, I get another one to review! Very lovely. There's a bit more rhythm to this one. Pieces of repetition help it to be so. Very rarely do you rhyme, but that's okay. I enjoy it. And I also see you're doing better in terms of not using language/diction as a crutch. I appreciate that greatly!
