The Battle of Autumn

The Battle of Autumn

A Poem by Cayla

The Battle of Autumn

A sunbeam fighting a heavy cloud

Suffocating in silence

Drowned by the raindrops marching so loud

Death by implicit violence

Leaves once green are poisoned and wither

Burned by a freezing fire

Falling blood drops through the air slither

Submit to cold desire

Leaves are ruling the land of despair

Flower and sunlight parted

A gruesome game of truth and dare

Quest of the cold has started

Howl of the wind, see triumph is thine

Summer surrenders in throes

Desperate a leave clings on to its twine

The crystal of winter shows

Once again the warmth is defeated

In summer and winters clash

              Summer knowing years are repeated

Waits to arise for the ash

A rather epic feel; its like I read about a battle better two pagan tribes from yester-centuries.

I liked and I enjoyed this poem. You described the change of season with skill.
"Once again the warmth is defeated
In summer and winters clash
Summer knowing years are repeated

Waits to arise for the ash"
I liked the above lines. Perfect description used.
Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
