A Southern SpringA Story by CayenneAbout the creeping in of warm weather and jasmine.A Southern Spring A True Story Written by Cayenne Elizabeth 3/4/2015 The wind carries a thickness as spring teases in the south. The warmth releases slow at first, then nothing at all, then today… she exhales. In contrast everything seems vivid in this scene, except the wind. The vaporous wind carries shadows and intrigue as I breathe the air in. I am slowly discovering why they fall. Those old oaks draped over uneven dampened streets, the spanish moss hangs from the limbs, growing and hushed all at the same time. I am in awe of the chipped shutters, contrasting colors, and curled iron of these old shot gun houses. There is some dark enchanting tension as I walk around. I look around and feel some danger vexing my imagination, not the kind that is provoked by violence or my witness to such images, but the kind that comes from the personally uncharted. Then all at once an overwhelming romance to the entire experience. Looking forward to taking it all in. © 2015 Cayenne |
