House of Memories

House of Memories

A Poem by Caustic_Dystopia

I think of you from time to time,
But don't you worry, I'm just fine.

Distant memories of what used to be
Are clouded now with misery.

I can no longer recall the good without reliving the bad,
Bittersweet midnight dreams that make me feel so mad.

You've tainted it all with your poisonous lies,
So I stood so silent, unmoving as it dies.

What used to be a home where we shared the keys
Is now a rundown, decayed house of broken memories.

hmm. it's okay to remember the bad along with the good. sounds like someone moving on. very relatable. when one door closes we look to another opening ... :)

You’ve so artfully created a place and mood for others to visit and feel. Pain like that lingers long past the paint on the house. Over time, all fades, good and bad, but is forever remembered in poems and memories.
