Still

Still

A Poem by Caustic_Dystopia

Another sleepless night.
Just me, my thoughts and the suns new light.

Your voice is hazy, it's fading away,
But still the memories of you continue to stay.

I can faintly recall the look of your face,
But I know that too will fade at it's pace.

What would you do if you knew that I'm still hopelessly in love with you?

Maybe your heart would ache with guilt for the cruel way you behaved, or maybe your heart would smile at the permanent damage you've paved.

I hope you're finally happy with where you are today and sometimes wonder if maybe, just maybe, you should have stayed.

You know I heard a new song recently it made me think of you. I hope these words she wrote eventually come true.

She said;
"I hope you will find someone to cry for, someone to try for, someone who will turn your crooked roads into her streets. Someone to fight for, someone to die for, someone who's arms will hold you tight enough to be the reason you breathe."

You know what's funny?
You were all that and more to me.

What a lovely poem! Your choice of wording was excellent, I'd advise against using filler words (i.e, "still" in line 4). Other than that, this poem was impeccably written and I truly enjoyed it! Keep writing! I've read some of your other works and they are just great! Thanks!
