How You Lost Her

How You Lost Her

A Poem by Caustic_Dystopia

Done some things I can't explain.
Fooled around and caused you pain.

Tried to fix it, but made it worse,
Made you think our love was cursed.

Been indecisive, spun you 'round and 'round.
Did my own thing as you hit the ground.

I know I'm a mess; you deserve much more than me,
But don't give up, yet, I swear I can be all that you need.

Just give me one last chance to prove it true,
Baby girl, tonight I'm gonna fight for you.

These words you didn't say,
So her love it faded away.

You couldn't see the desperation in her eye.
She said the words and hoped you'd catch her lie.

Prove to her she meant something, if not everything to you,
But instead you swallowed her words and believed them to be true.

Insecure, you hid. She never loved you, you were sure.
Boy, that's how you lost the world, that's how you lost her.
