Blurred Thoughts

Blurred Thoughts

A Poem by Caustic_Dystopia

Can we start over? Can we mend the past?
Can we come back together like broken bones in a cast?

Can you stop with the lies? Can you remain true?
Can you renew the trust, I once had for you?

Can we make it this time, or are we destined to fall?
Can we be forever, or just a forgotten midnight call?

Am I strong enough to let you back in?
Am I strong enough to say goodbye again?

Letting go, an impossible necessity.
Holding on, a beautiful catastrophe.

You're the ghost of my past, present and future.
An insidiously vibrant, vile cure.

Can you be my happy ending,
Or will you hide behind your pretending?

Can you be the man you said I deserve,
Or once again stray 'cause you've lost your nerve?
